Dextrose | Mycology PDA | Brewing Sugar | Corn Sugar | D-glucose Monohydrate
Dextrose powder
Other names: Brewing Sugar | Corn Sugar | D-glucose Monohydrate
Dextrose is a simple sugar that is made from corn and is chemically identical to glucose.
Applications for dextrose:
Mycology - Potato dextrose agar (PDA) contains dextrose as a carbohydrate source which serves as a growth stimulant.
Microbiology - Dextrose is used in microbiological culture media as an energy source. Dextrose is also used in the study of fermentation reactions of microorganisms, aiding in their identification.
Brewing - F ermentation using dextrose (known as brewing sugar) will start quicker and ferment cleaner. For priming it dissolves quickly and leaves no residual sweetness compared to normal sugar.
Body Building - Dextrose is naturally calorie-dense and easy for the body to break down for energy. Because of this, dextrose powder is used as a nutritional supplement by bodybuilders who are looking to increase weight and muscle.
What are you getting:
You will receive dextrose powder packaged in a heavy duty reseal-able poly bag.
